Web26 feb. 2015 · Homeostasis has been studied primarily with regard to systemically regulated variables such as plasma glucose level and core body temperature. However, many of the same variables are also homeostatically maintained at the level of individual cells within tissues. Webt. e. Thermoregulation is the ability of an organism to keep its body temperature within certain boundaries, even when the surrounding temperature is very different. A thermoconforming organism, by contrast, simply adopts the surrounding temperature as its own body temperature, thus avoiding the need for internal thermoregulation.
