When my XJ had death wobble it was caused by the pitman arm. Webb1 dec. 2013 · Looks like a drop pitman arm which is a bad idea on a JK. Most are junk and don't tighten up on the shaft. The up and down movement is what's causing the erratic steering. I'd go back to the stock pitman arm and a drag link flip if you have enough lift and bump stop. Look at any other Ford / Chevy / Dodge power steering gear box and you should see the same thing. A threaded shaft with a lock nut securing the sector shaft in the steering gear box.
