This over time will overtax the starter and cause premature failure. Replace the starter and you'll have caught up to me, as I have most of the same symptoms. I can go weeks where the car turns over like new then "out-of-the-blue" I start getting what I can only describe as a slow start. It sounds like the battery does not have enough spark to crank the starter fast enough.
